Martin Rosen’s directorial debut. He was not an animator, but adapted the novel Watership Down by Richard Adams into an animated movie anyways. Angela Moorey, a trans composer, created almost the entire score, which had her nominated for The Academy Award for Best Original Music, Original Sound Score and Its Adaptation or Best Adaptation Score.
The first TV adaptation of Watership down, not to be confused with the 2018 BBC adaptation. It is a British-Canadian animated children’s show. Stephen Gatley sang a new arrangement of Art Garfunkel’s “Bright Eyes,” in homage to the soundtrack of the 1978 film.
Not to be confused with the 1999 TV adaptation, the 2018 series launched as an adventure-fantasy. Airing on BBC, its CGI animation had a more realistic style that previous iterations. Sam Hunt made music for it.
